Steven Lambert
Servant. Father. Fighter.

Meet Steven

Steven Lambert is a proud father, dedicated mayor, volunteer firefighter, and lifelong public servant. He believes strong communities are built through hard work, common sense, and genuine service, not political games.

Steven currently serves as the mayor of Loami, Illinois. In this role, he has modernized village operations, improved public safety, and maintained balanced budgets. Under his leadership, the village has invested in law enforcement, public works, and resurrected public parks. His efforts have led to clean audits and enhanced services.

As a trained volunteer firefighter, Steven serves with the Loami Fire Department and works closely with neighboring communities like Chatham and New Berlin during emergencies. Whether responding to a call or standing beside his neighbors during a crisis, he understands the value of reliable local services and strong community support.

Before entering local government, Steven spent more than a decade working in higher education. He helped students of all backgrounds, including military veterans, teachers, and aspiring nurses, explore college, trade programs, and workforce training opportunities. He worked closely with veterans to help them access and navigate their educational benefits and supported future nurses through enrollment guidance, academic advising, and career development. Steven holds a bachelor’s degree in Politics, a Master of Public Administration, and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership.
Steven’s commitment to service also includes work with nonprofits in North Carolina, where he helped families with limited resources gain access to critical support.

Now, Steven is running as an independent candidate for the Illinois State Senate. He believes Central Illinois deserves a leader who puts people over party. As a parent of a daughter attending public school in the district, Steven is personally invested in the future of the region. He is ready to fight for safer communities, stronger schools, and real opportunities for working families.
